Venice Drift

Really is a hidden gem. Great location, just around the corner from the lovely Abbot Kinney. Safe quiet street. The bungalow itself has everything you need. Very clean, good wifi, comfortable bed. And the snacks provided on check in were a most welcome surprise.

The property was peaceful and quiet, with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. However, the heat made the stay uncomfortable as it hovered at 95 degrees F on the first day and never below 88 the days that followed. Although air conditioning wasn’t advertised, the small fans provided offered very little relief during the heatwave. Advance warning and better cooling arrangements would have helped. The large skylights also contributed to the heat inside the unit. I needed to work during this trip but spent much of that time in nearby cafés because the unit was too hot to work in comfortably. Some of the furniture was visibly stained and worn and could use updating. I ended up leaving early, which meant finding alternative accommodation during my trip. The hosts agreed to the early departure but declined my request for compensation. I appreciated being able to return the following day to collect a charger I’d left behind.
