OUR STORY

Cousins first. Then the houses.

The company began in 2014. The story did not. We grew up together in western Pennsylvania, left for the East Coast after college — Deanna to Boston, Lisa to New York — and found each other again in Los Angeles in late 1990. Deanna came through Giorgio Armani and a lifestyle agency of her own; by 2011 she was hosting, an Airbnb Brand Ambassador and Super Host, with interiors work in Maine and Los Angeles. Lisa came through marketing and promotions — campaigns for artists including Lenny Kravitz, Janet Jackson, and The Rolling Stones — then California Living, a boutique outdoor furnishings store, and years inside design studios and fashion houses. We left those careers to raise our families, and built Nonpareil Stays in the years that followed. Attention to detail is not branding. It is how we were taught to work, and how every house is still run. Guests from around the world stay with us now. We are still the same two cousins.
